ASSOS: Sponsor Yourself
ASSOS was started 40 years ago in Switzerland by Toni Maier. Toni was known for his out the box ideas, like building a bike out of carbon fiber. He was inspired by Formula One cars that were already using carbon fiber. So he made the first carbon fiber road bike, which at that time cost about $50,000. He was later inspired by skiers to create more aerodynamic cycling clothing. Since then, ASSOS gear has been worn in numerous World Championship Races, Olymipics and has had hundreds of riders on the podium. Below is just a brief overview of a few of the ASSOS products that ERIK’S carries.
If you are a frequent rider looking for a good set of bib shorts or you are getting into the racing scene, then the T.EQUIPE_S7 is a good place to start. This short is designed for a lot of use and has a nice snug fit to provide support and comfort.
The T.CENTO_S7 is an amazing bib short for the long distance rider. This short is designed to withstand hours in the saddle and has a thicker memory foam pad to provide extra comfort. These shorts are not as snug as the racing short, but still provide plenty of support.
When you are in need of a little help to preform at your best, then the T.CAMPIONISSMO_S7 is what you’re looking for. The new ground breaking short is made with a new specially designed fabric that contains no spandex. This short is lighter, snugger and more aerodynamic. These shorts are not for everyday use, just when you need to get the highest performance.
Now stepping into the women’s line there is the H.LAALALAISHORTS_S7 and the T.LAALALAISHORTS_S7 bibs. These shorts are designed specifically for women and provide support and comfort in all the right places. The bibs are uniquely designed with an easy to use clasp in the front to make getting the bibs on and off a breeze.
If you get any product made by ASSOS, you can bet that you will be getting product of high quality. ASSOS owns their very own textile company that designs and engineers fabrics that are specific for cycling. Their design company has over 3,500 different fabrics that you will only find on ASSOS products. The name ASSOS is greek for ace or first and they certainly live up to the name.
